USMC Tier II UAS concept demonstrator
We designed, developed, integrated, and tested every major segment of the Marine Corps Tier II Concept Demonstrator, and took it from drawing board to the field in 120 days. Every component had to be handled by two Marines under a 150-pound lift restriction, which drove the design of the airframe, the launcher, and the recovery system alike.
- Five T-16 fully autonomous aircraft, built and flown
- Custom ground control station, NATO STANAG compliant
- Pneumatic launcher and transporter system
- Net capture recovery system
- Miniaturized electronic fuel injection developed in house
- EO, IR, and laser sensor payload on a multi-axis gimbal
- Target location error held under 10 meters
- ROVER III integration for downrange video
The complete system was then tested under simulated combat conditions at Naval Weapons Center China Lake.
